Still, The Light

Carnegie Curates, Presented By The Contemporary Art Advisory.

Coinciding with the longest days of the year, Still, The Light brings together works by local artists exploring light in its many forms. Inspired by the Summer Solstice, the exhibition reflects on light not simply as something we see, but as something we experience, seek, remember and gather around.

Light can be joy, warmth on skin, the glow of an evening sky, a moment of clarity, a sense of hope, or an invitation to pause. In a world that often asks us to move faster, summer offers a reminder to slow down, look closer and be present. Still, The Light celebrates these moments of attention, connection and wonder through painting and print.

Artists are invited to submit works that respond to the theme of light, however broadly interpreted. This may include depictions of sunlight, atmosphere, landscape and seasonality, or more personal explorations of illumination, euphoria, warmth, optimism, reflection, stillness and presence. Summer-inspired works that reflect the spirit of the exhibition are welcomed, alongside diverse interpretations of the theme from artists of all backgrounds.

Deadline to submit: Friday 12th June 2026

Location: The Carnegie Cafe, Herne Hill, London

Fee: No submission fee, free to take part, commission only when sold.
